Spotlight Treatment
Vyepti — The Migraine Infusion
Eptinezumab (Vyepti) is a quarterly IV infusion that targets CGRP — the protein responsible for triggering migraine attacks. It is one of the most effective preventive migraine treatments available, now PBS-listed for eligible patients in Australia.
As a specialist neurology clinic, NerveSync can assess your eligibility for PBS-subsidised Vyepti, manage the authority prescription process, and administer each infusion under expert supervision every three months.

Rebates & Costs
Medicare & PBS Coverage
Several infusions available at NerveSync attract Medicare rebates or PBS subsidies, significantly reducing out-of-pocket costs for eligible patients.
Because we are a specialist neurology clinic, we can access PBS-restricted items like Vyepti and provide the authority prescriptions and specialist documentation required. Fees are discussed transparently at your consultation.
A GP referral to a specialist is required to access Medicare rebates for most infusions. For PBS-listed treatments like Vyepti, a neurologist's authority prescription is also needed. Contact our rooms and we'll guide you through the process.
How long does an infusion take?
▼
This depends on the infusion type. Vyepti takes approximately 30 minutes, iron infusions typically run 30–60 minutes, and acute migraine protocols may vary. You will be observed for a short period after. Allow 2 hours in total for your first visit.
Is the infusion painful?
▼
Most patients experience only mild discomfort from the IV cannula insertion. The infusion itself is generally very well-tolerated. Our team uses best-practice techniques to minimise any discomfort.
Am I eligible for PBS-listed Vyepti?
▼
PBS eligibility for Vyepti requires a diagnosis of chronic or episodic migraine and documented failure of at least two preventive migraine therapies. Our team will manage the authority prescription process for eligible patients.
Can I drive after an infusion?
▼
Most patients can drive after their infusion once the observation period is complete. However, for your first infusion, we recommend arranging transport home as a precaution. Dr Saleem will advise you at your appointment.
Do I need blood tests before an infusion?
▼
For iron infusions, recent iron studies and full blood count are required before treatment. For vitamin infusions, relevant deficiency testing is needed. Our team will advise you on what blood tests to obtain prior to your appointment.
